Logical Meditation: Explaining What It Is and How to Feel It

I talked about the ability of meditation in an earlier post (this article). There are three types of meditation. One of them is logical meditation. Today, I will explain what it is and how to feel it.

How to have peace of mind

Sometimes, we want peace of mind, especially when exhausted. Many things would strain us, such as disgusting work, stressful human relationships, a lack of freedom, or a rewardless competitive environment. If we live in such a state for a long time, we tend to feel like we are living like a heartless machine. Those stresses make us wish for a natural life with peace of mind.

Meditation is one of the ways to have a calm mind. In addition, it indicates the best direction in our lives.

There are three types of meditation: physical, empathic, and logical. Perhaps logical meditation is the most vague one.

The doubts about logical meditation

Logical meditation is a form of meditation that frees us from our upsetting emotions by using logical sense.

However, we are sometimes torn between two options, even though we think as logically as possible.

For example, we often have a conflict between spending money for fun and saving money. We want to buy something good for refreshing, such as a new sports car or a fancy bag. They give us fun, but it is unnecessary for our lives. We don’t want to waste our money for the future. We sometimes list and compare their pros and cons, but we cannot decide.

That process often exhausts us, even though it looks like we are trying to solve it logically. Why?

Today, I will explain logical meditation, how to feel it, and how to meditate well. This knowledge might give us a comfortable direction in life.

The four types of personalities

If we can meditate more, our lives will be better. In other words, it indicates the best direction in our lives.

To explain it, I will introduce the four types of personalities that I often use, as shown in the following image:

We classify our personalities by two axes. One axis is highly empathic or not. The other is that they like to follow social tradition or improve their style continuously.

The four kinds of sense

In other words, we could have four kinds of sense: competition, sociality, empathy, and logic. It is as shown in the following image:

An explanation of each personality

There are four types of personalities, as follows:

  • Extroverts: People who need meditation the least. They have peace of mind through living only now instead of meditation.
  • Traditional empaths: (Not in use this time.)
  • Innovative empaths: People who need meditation the most. They have peace of mind through meditation instead of living only now.
  • Innovators: (Not in use this time.)

Innovative people—innovative empaths and innovators—can use logical meditation well through their logical senses.

Assume we are innovative empaths in this article.

Which is the direction of our lives?

Let’s see why struggling with whether to spend money or save money exhausts us, although we seem to be using our logical sense.

In that example, we are not using our logic. It is an emotional reaction. In other words, it is a justification to settle our emotional upset.

Consider why we want those unnecessary things, such as a new sports car or a fancy bag.

There are three purposes in this case, as follows:

  • To fill the empathy: It allows us to imagine that we are rich. That imagination satisfies us.
  • To fill the sociality: It allows us to feel that we are part of a society we want to belong to. We can feel safe by knowing we are the same as our surroundings. (Perhaps many people around us have those sports cars or fancy bags.)
  • To fill the competition: It allows us to feel superior to others. It satisfies our competitive minds. (Perhaps we are in an environment where many don’t have it and envy it.)

Think in terms of direction

In that case, if we describe it in terms of the direction of life, it would be the direction toward the left side, as shown in the following image:

We can fill the three elements: empathy, sociality, and a competitive mind.

In this case, we don’t use our logical sense because its direction is the opposite. In other words, the logic we think of is only a justification. We can see that there is no rational reason.

That is why we cannot decide, no matter how we logically compare them. The direction is wrong.

How can we feel logical meditation?

To feel logical sense, try thinking about the following two subjects: How much does it cost to buy freedom? How efficient can we make it?

Freedom is one of the essential wants of innovative people. It would be the direction, as shown in the following image:

In addition, efficiency is one of the fundamentals of logical sense.

That will give us a state of logical meditation. We will be free from emotional movements in that process because we only think of procedure and efficiency.

Why the meditative state indicates the ideal lifestyle

When we follow the most meditative state, that direction becomes our best direction in life because we can do it naturally. We have no stress from those activities. We can do it comfortably.

In other words, it is an activity that suits our nature.

If we have a strange personality, it will be a rare and precious talent because few people can do it.

The direction for innovative empaths

Try thinking about what lifestyle will give us the most meditative life. For innovative empaths, the following keywords might indicate the direction:

  • Independence for as long as possible
  • Seclusion in the long-term
  • Safe freedom throughout the lifetime

We remove the desire for another direction. Then, try to focus on efficiency and rationality.

That might bring us to the most meditative state and solid progress toward our ideal lives.

Conclusion

Logical meditation frees us from emotional upsets. If we are innovative empaths, the most meditative state indicates our best direction in life.

This knowledge might give us a comfortable direction in life.
