Day Off: A May Upset

At this time of year, around the beginning of May, I frequently get sick. I call this a “May upset.”

This is probably because this is the most liver-straining season of the year for me. During this season, many factors make my liver strained, such as temperature changes, changes in the amount of food required, and changes in the condition of my body from winter to summer. And I have had a weak liver since birth.

Mechanisms of our bodies

But after taking some rest, my body will be ready for summer. I can live without any air conditioning, even in the middle of the summer.

Probably this is the natural lifestyle for people who lived in the older era without air conditioning. We have such a mechanism in our human body.

This is probably because the amount of brown fat cells, which make heat in our body, changes. During this time, our liver works harder to modify our body temperature.

So it seems to be the season for some rest for me. It’s one of my fortunes that I can take some rest easily at any time.

So I’m taking care of myself. I can say that this is preparation for the summer.

And after this preparation, let’s enjoy the beginning of summer!
