Recently, I have been developing a new problem-solving method based on monism, dualism, and trilism. I temporarily call it the factor-dividing method since pluralism is an unfamiliar word. I have gradually found how to use it efficiently.
Today, I will introduce how to find the monistic answer—one true factor—with dualism and trilism.
How to make our lives easier
Sometimes, we want to make our lives easier. Many complex things confuse us, such as people’s lies or our lies to ourselves. In other words, we want to make our lives simpler.
An example is that there are a lot of ways of thinking. They tell us what to do in each case. Although they are useful, there are so many patterns to remember.
On the other hand, there are ways of life and logic. They often provide a simpler solution because they can be applied to many troubles. A single way of life can substitute for one hundred ways of thinking. A single logic can substitute for one hundred ways of life.

In other words, logic and the ways of life allow us to make our lives simpler and easier.
However, we sometimes don’t know how to obtain them. We often have to create them due to our unique natures.
In such a case, the factor-dividing method I am developing might help. This method allows you to simplify your ways of thinking. Today, I will introduce how to do it.
The factor-dividing method
The factor-dividing method is a problem-solving method. In this method, we change our perspectives on a problem. To change our perspectives, we change the number of factors that cause the problem.
These perspectives are as follows:
- The monistic perspective assumes that there is only one cause. This provides the simplest, best answer: logic. However, if the problem has many influential factors, identifying the cause and its logic is hard.
- The dualistic perspective assumes that the imbalance of two contradictory aspects causes the problem. To solve the problem, we balance it. This provides a reasonable answer: a new way of life. However, this is not the best. In addition, we can only apply this to the matter of lifestyle and cannot use this for specific problems that require strategy.
- The trilistic perspective assumes that the imbalance of three contradictory aspects causes the problem. Balancing it leads to a solution. This provides a strategic answer: a new way of thinking. However, it becomes more confusing.
- The tetralistic perspective (or more elements) is the same procedure as above. This provides a more technical answer based on the specific circumstances. The more elements it has, the more specialized and confusing.

They have pros and cons. The monistic approach is the simplest, but it is hard to identify the cause. On the other hand, the multiple-element approach is confusing, but it is easy to respond.
How to use it to make our lives easier
This tells us how to make our lives easier. It is as follows:
- If we stagnate and want to make our lives simpler and easier, shift to a higher perspective (toward the monistic approach). If the monistic approach doesn’t work, try the dualistic approach.
- If you stagnate and don’t know the specific method, switch to a lower perspective (toward more elements).

An appropriate perspective gives us a clear, immediate solution. We can clearly understand the situation. In addition, we don’t worry because the circumstances are obvious. That allows us to sacrifice necessary costs without hesitation and improve our lives steadily.
Of course, we often encounter unexpected troubles. It means that there are unavoidable occasional regressions. However, we can deal with them without fear and regret as long as we can look at them from the right perspective.
Examples of merging ways of thinking
Let’s introduce how to simplify our ways of thinking.
We can simplify dualistic or trilistic solutions into the monistic one factor. In other words, we can merge two or three contradictory elements into one cause. This makes our lives easier because we can obtain the one true cause.

To make it easier to understand, let me show examples below.
Ex. 1) The problem of my ‘home’
First, here is an example of merging a dualistic solution into a monistic one cause.
I had a problem in life. It was the feeling that my ‘home’ was nowhere to be found. Although I have lived in many places, I could not find a place to calm down. Even if I could relax initially, it gradually becomes boring or stressful. That made me feel alone. I didn’t know the cause.

The dualistic approach solved it. After I created it, I noticed I can balance being active outside and relaxing at home. Even though that was not the best solution, it was reasonable.
What the true cause gave me
Then, I realized I could merge them into one true cause: the concept that chaos is my home. It makes being active outside compatible with relaxing at home, despite those contradictions.
This concept resonated with me and gave me relaxation from my heart. I noticed I loved chaotic situations. It no longer bores me, nor does it make me feel lonely. I feel completely accepted by the world.

Strangely, I found it calming. Although it might sound odd, it gave me deep relaxation.
This was the best solution for me toward the problem of home. I found a single cause and knew how to deal with it. I merged two contradictory aspects into one.
Ex. 2) The problem of my poor health
Next, let me introduce an example of merging a trilistic solution into a monistic one cause.
I had a problem with my health. I didn’t know why for a long time. I recently realized that my naturally weak liver caused it.
In other words, my weak liver was the true cause. I got it by integrating three individual factors.

I understood that there were three health laws of my body based on my experience. They were cooling my body, overeating, and drinking alcohol over a certain amount. Avoiding them gave me health.
They were a trilistic approach, which has three strategic behaviors.
Merging them into one
Then, I accidentally learned that all of them affect liver function. That made me realize that my liver was the true cause.
This discovery brought me the logic of how to improve my health. I started to care for my liver directly from various angles, such as food, cooking methods, clothing, and exercise.
After that, I became steadily healthier. I am healthier now than I was in elementary school.

I merged the trilistic elements into one—the monistic solution. That gave me the best way for my health. It is far more efficient than caring for my health based on my three laws.
Like those ways, we can simplify our ways of life or thinking into one true factor. This makes our lives simpler and easier. This simplifying process has a name: aufheben. It was named by Hegel, the German philosopher who lived in the 19th century. It means ‘to lift concepts up.’
The factor-dividing method I am creating now is the same. It is a logic that frees us from countless confusing ways of thinking. This might be a logic equivalent to thousands of thinking methods.
Conclusion
That is the factor-dividing method.
We can simplify our ways of thinking into one factor. This makes our lives easier.
This knowledge might allow you to improve your life more easily and steadily.
