Several days ago, I visited the next place I would live and had a preview of the residence. Since it was a quiet, peaceful, and beautiful home, I decided to live there. It will be a rental apartment in the countryside by the beautiful sea. Today, I will talk about it.
The circumstances of my move
Let me explain my circumstances again.
Recently, I had to leave my house due to my relative’s circumstances. I now live in the current house that one of my relatives owns. When she inherited this house years ago, she didn’t use it, so I suggested living in and maintaining it. That was a win-win.
This house is large enough to accommodate 6 people. I live alone. Although it is a little too large for me, it is better than too narrow.
However, I suddenly got a message that she would live in this house and I had to move out until December next month. That was the background of my move.
When I was in college and when I was an employee, I lived in the big cities, Kobe and Yokohama, next to Osaka and Tokyo. The atmosphere of these big cities exhausted me. I wanted to live in a peaceful countryside.
My hometown: Iwakuni City
After I began my business independently, I returned to my hometown, Iwakuni City, Japan, where I live now. This is where I was born and raised. It is a medium-sized city with a population of about 100,000. It might be famous for having one of East Asia’s largest U.S. military bases.
There are downtown and rural areas. I now live halfway between the downtown area and the countryside. It is a convenient place.
The next place: Kitsuki City
I decided to move to Kistuki City, located in Oita Prefecture, Japan. This city may be famous for having the cheapest rent in Japan. Although it is in the countryside, the rent is about 1/3 to 1/5 of a normal city. Maybe I will explain what happened in this city in a later article.
The below image is of the Kitsuki station I took when I visited. The station size may give you an idea of the city size. The size of the station often symbolizes that of the city. Yes, it is the countryside.
However, it was perfect for me. I wanted to live more in the countryside.
Moreover, the new residence is by the sea. I can go to a beautiful beach within 5 minutes of walking. I like to see the sea. Although it is inconvenient to shop for groceries, I can manage my items and don’t have to go shopping so often, so I don’t care. I prioritized nature and quiet.
Travel often sets our minds free
I first thought it was far, but when I went there once, I felt it was close. It took only 3 to 4 hours with two Express trains. That made me realize how my worldview had become narrower.
Travel often sets our minds free. My visit there freed my mind.
Interestingly, whenever I travel far, I tend not to worry about wasting money. Perhaps this is because travel makes us feel free from society. Money is one of the social resources. That might be why travel makes us tolerant of money.
This experience made me realize I was too obsessed with reducing costs. That gave me my balance in life and reduced my fear of starting a new life.
Conclusion
That was the introduction to my next living place. It will be Kitsuki City.
I am going to move there around early December. During that period, this blog may be updated less frequently.
Thank you for reading this article. I hope to see you in the next one.
