Yesterday, I saw the news on TV that introduced a survey on people’s happiness in my region. The report showed a significant increase in happiness levels among individuals under 20 this year.
Although there are many doubts about the credibility of that report, I felt that it was a euphoric state before the crisis. Let’s discuss it.
Incomprehensible reactions in social people
Sometimes, we want to make sense of incomprehensible reactions in social people. They sometimes act irrationally.
One example is that people are beginning to behave extremely. It is like bipolar disorder in society. The president, who was aiming for the Nobel Peace Prize, suddenly started attacking other countries. Pro-war demonstrations were also held in the same location as the anti-war protests. While the number of wealthy people who travel all over the world has increased, the number of poor people has also grown.

The survey I mentioned at the top of this article is also one example. It reported that the hope level for the future of the younger generation suddenly rose significantly this year. For many years, only around 20% of people had hope. However, it suddenly shifted to 47%.
Perhaps, while the number of hopeful people increases, so does the number of those in despair in the near future—like the swings of bipolar disorder.
That is why we want to understand why this kind of phenomenon occurs.
One perspective for recognizing it is to focus on people’s confusion. That shows us that people’s happiness and unhappiness will become more extreme in the coming turbulent era. Today, I will explain why.
People’s confusion
At the beginning of a turbulent era, people become confused.
In a stable time, the world was orderly. Inexplicable phenomena didn’t happen much, and society eliminated such disorder.

However, when society loses its power to maintain social order, people and communities start to act independently. In this situation, there would be no consistent logic.
There are various contradictory differences in logic and theory. Examples include the differing logic of a major power versus a small country and that of rulers versus civilians.
Dependence on politics
When various arguments emerge, people become unsure of what is right.
Although people seek politically correct answers, there is no such thing. Independence is contrary to the collective improvements that politics pursue. In an era when society becomes increasingly disconnected and when individuals prioritize independence, no political system can enhance the entire community.
Since politics is the delegation of responsibility and judgment, each person and community needs to take responsibility and decide for themselves during the turbulent era.

However, in the early stages of a confusing period, people don’t yet understand it. They still believe politics saves people. Relying on a leader while expecting respect for individual judgment is contradictory.
That confusion sometimes makes them decide on leaders based solely on someone’s behavior and appearance without considering their logic. Confident, self-assured, composed, and having a different appearance from before, such people are more likely to become leaders and influencers. That accelerates the confusion.
In other words, dependence on politics leads to dictators and wars.
Judge calmly from a broader perspective
We need to understand that the behavior of the masses is based on confusion. Intense hope is the other side of deep anxiety.
The meaning of hope changes with the times. During the stable era, it indicates people’s energy. On the other hand, during the turbulent era, it shows people’s anxieties.

Before a collapse, people sometimes feel euphoria. They stop rational thinking, let go of their responsibility, leave difficult things to the experts, live in the moment, and even enjoy destroying their own lives. After enjoying the thrill of momentary destruction, they will calm down and face reality. It will be a moment of despair for those who cannot change their lives.
We don’t have to go along with their collective downfall. We can become abundant by being prepared.
Those who can calmly prepare and judge rationally will be abundant during a turbulent era.
Conclusion
That is the perspective to make sense of incomprehensible reactions in social people.
At the beginning of a turbulent era, the behavior of the masses is based on confusion.
That may calm us down and enable us to prepare rationally.
Thank you for reading this article. I hope to see you in the next one.
