The Message I Most Want to Convey Now: Reviewing the Year of Rationality (2025)

Since it is the end of the year, let’s wrap up this year.

Looking back on the year

This year was a year of rationality for me. It brought me another level of perception toward the world. That solved my spiritual problem.

I described it with the metaphor of eyes in recent articles.

If we are empathic and logical, we have two senses: empathy and logical sense. They are like two eyes.

When we judge only based on empathy—emotionally—we see the world with a single eye. On the other hand, if we add rationality—the logical ability—we can see the world with two eyes.

Two eyes provide depth perception while sacrificing visual clarity. Although things that are out of focus appear blurry, we can tell the distance of whatever we focus on.

Seeing things three-dimensionally

That gives us the three-dimensional perception. Even something that seems obvious can look different from the other side. For example, someone who clearly seemed righteous turns out to have aspects that are not so. We often recognize that things we initially perceived as evil may also have positive aspects.

In my case, I had various misbeliefs. I used to think that physical work was harmful for me. I thought I was terrible at socializing. I believed that waiting is meaningless. I had biased mindsets.

When we look at something in three dimensions, we can see that it has various aspects. That makes us perceive the world vaguely. We understand that we often cannot obtain a clear answer. That is the negative side of using two eyes.

However, we understand the distance. It allows us to detour. We can avoid nearby large obstacles by heading in a different direction. Even if we cannot go straight, we will soon understand that taking a detour is more efficient.

In such an environment, we can search for a place where we can live comfortably.

Now, I am at the stage of learning various aspects of things around me. I have found hope in negative things and faults in hopeful ones.

That improved my life.

Conclusion

That is the message I most want to convey now.

This year was a year of rationality for me. It brought me another level of perception toward the world.

Although I still don’t know what the future holds, I will follow this lifestyle for a while and explore the world.
