How to Overcome Hesitation to Receive

Yesterday, I realized my shocking tendencies. I had been terrible at receiving. Let’s talk about it.

How to receive abundance

Sometimes, we want to receive abundance fully. It gives us a comfortable life. We don’t have to do rewardless work and can avoid unnecessary efforts. In other words, we can improve our lives more efficiently.

However, we sometimes cannot make it happen. We only suffer without rewards, no matter how hard we struggle.

One cause is our hesitation to receive. Even though we are proficient in giving, sometimes we are poor at taking. That causes our poverty in many areas.

I was also in such a state. I had been terrible at receiving.

Fortunately, I solved it. We can overcome it by reducing our inner images and increasing rational judgments. Today, I will explain why.

Inner images and rationality

We can eliminate our hesitation to receive by reducing our inner images and increasing rational judgments.

We have two criteria for judgment, as follows:

  • Empathy makes us good at giving but poor at receiving. It is a sense that contributes to others. We rely on inner images, which are our rules of thumb.
  • Logical sense makes us good at receiving but poor at giving. It is to reduce waste and increase efficiency. In other words, it is a talent that makes life easy. We rely on our rationality.

Our inner images hide opportunities for us to change. It includes the progression of our lives.

Inner images are an accumulation of our experiences. In other words, they are meant to repeat the past efficiently.

On the other hand, rationality allows us to change and improve fundamentally. It doesn’t consider the past. It only reacts to things that give us progression.

Abundance is something that goes beyond past experiences and makes us more comfortable. It always comes with changes.

That is why we can receive more if we reduce our inner images and increase rational judgments.

My case

In my case, I was bound by many inner images. That prevented my progression.

For example, I had a good impression of minimalism. I used to believe it allowed me to be more creative, reduce costs, and make life more enjoyable.

However, at the same time, it had limited what I could receive. That made me hesitate to add new things.

For another example, I thought independence would suit those with unique individuality like me. We are not good at social stress. Independence would reduce our exhaustion.

However, it also meant losing something reliable. If some people or things provide abundance, we will no longer obtain them.

In other words, I only saw one aspect of things: inner images. That limited my improvement.

Updating our inner images

Prioritizing rationality over inner images will give us change.

In other words, we should update our inner images to change our lives. Rationality comes first, and inner image follows.

For example, I changed my clothing image. I have always chosen clothes with bright, natural colors. It is because it seems like a cheerful personality. My respected person said that before, and I believed it just because he said so.

However, I realized it was unreasonable. There is no problem as long as they are comfortable and functional for my activity, even in black clothes. If I produce results efficiently with it, it will become cool.

We need to be aware of which is more important. My way of living should determine my inner image. Not vice versa.

Our inner images are often poor. We only have the impressions of majorly socially successful people and those of limited past experiences.

That is why we should update our inner images. They are unreliable.

Being free from the fear of losing money

If we follow rationality, we will start to live with what rationality gives us.

In my case, I no longer fear losing money. This was one of the most surprising changes in my mind.

This is because I know I can live even in that state. Our inner images cause anxiety about losing money. Anything that deviates from the inner image becomes a source of worry that causes death.

It is completely unreasonable if we look at it from the perspective of rationality. There are many ways to live, even without money. We can live with what we have at that moment. Although unexpected and death are different things, empathy makes us believe so.

Even though there are cases where it causes our death, there are other cases. Rationality allows us to consider those cases in terms of probability.

That logical sense calmed my anxiety and gave me the confidence to survive. In other words, I got to choose a different option than my inner images. That brought me a sudden improvement in my life.

Conclusion

That is why we can overcome our hesitation to receive by reducing our inner images and increasing rational judgments.

Judging based on rationality rather than inner images will give us change.

This might allow you to receive abundance fully.
