How to have multiple perspectives
Sometimes, we want to have multiple perspectives to solve our problems. They provide us with new ideas.
An appropriate perspective helps us understand the essence of problems correctly and take appropriate action. For example, when we play chess, viewing from above makes it easier to manipulate the pieces. If we view it from the King’s eyes, although it may make it easy to empathize with the King’s feelings, it is hard to understand the overall situation. Chess is a game to defy the opponent, not one to be empathic to the king.
Our ways of solving problems are the same. An appropriate perspective allows us to solve the problems more easily. Even if we want to make money, a good perspective makes it easier to manage our businesses. In other words, a bad perspective can cause your poor business skills.
There are multiple perspectives besides monism and dualism I have explained recently.
However, we don’t know what perspectives there are or how to use them.
Today, I will introduce them. These perspectives might help you solve your problems more easily, including making money.
Other perspectives to solve problems
The perspectives I propose are the ones we can call trilism (3 elements), tetralism (4 elements), and pentalism (5 elements).
Recently, I have talked about monism and dualism. They are different perspectives to understand this world. In monism, we think that one factor causes the problem. In dualism, there are two contradictory factors, and we balance them. Switching them appropriately makes it easier to solve problems.
Of course, there are more approaches that reduce to multiple factors. We can use them. I define them as trilism, tetralism, and pentalism.
The more elements it has, the more specific things we can consider.
Trilism, tetralism, and pentalism
Let me introduce them below.
- Trilism (3 elements) is effective for social activities, such as governance, war, or business. Balancing them gives us stability and synergy power. The opponent’s imbalance is our opportunity to defeat. Examples are the separation of three powers (powers of legislation, administration, and judicature), business systems (segments of management, production, and sales), and military compositions (army, navy, air force). This would be the best perspective for making money.
- Tetralism (4 elements) is effective for dealing with problems that include time or space. Examples are the symbol of four directions (north, south, east, west) and the one of four seasons (spring, summer, autumn, winter).
- Pentalism, or larger elements (5 elements or more), is effective in classifying more detailed things. They are more suited for classifying specialized studies, such as five nutrients, five senses, or five tastes. 5 elements of Taoism (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) are also traditional examples.
Let me explain mainly about trilism below.
Why thinking in trilism fits business
If you want to make money, applying the trilistic perspective would help you.
Trilism is the concept that adds one more element to dualism. The added one often becomes a symbol of sociality. Duality indicates the fundamental desires of life. The third element is the symbol of a new stable element that we have recently acquired, and sociality is an element possessed only by evolved life. That is why the third element is suitable for dealing with social problems.
This perspective provides us with tactics to compete and win socially. Balancing them gives us stability and power. The opponent’s imbalance is our opportunity to defeat.
First, to make our business power more stable and powerful, try categorizing your business into three divisions. A typical example is the segments of management, production, and sales. One is production, which you can do willingly based on your individuality. Another is sales, in which you interact with society. The other is management, which connects them.
Balancing them enforces our business power and stability.
Finding where to attack
If you want to find a place to make money, try finding an imbalance in the market you are interested in. That would be an opportunity.
This is the same as the tactics of war. We find the weak points of the enemy. In other words, the opponent’s imbalance means our opportunity.
In war, we will attack the enemy’s weak points to disrupt their strength. For example, we classify enemy forces into three forces. Suppose we divided them into frontline, support troops, and supply troops. If we find that the enemy’s supply is poor, we will focus our strategy on it. We can try attacking supply units or making a long battle.
That effectively weakens the enemy.
Finding an imbalance in the market
Making money is the same. We will provide products that correct market imbalances in our own way.
Suppose we belong to a painters’ market. We might divide the market into three parts: commissioned artists, independent artists, and technical development artists. Of course, this is one example. There could be multiple angles, and you can use them freely.
Suppose we find a bias that there are relatively too many commissioned artists and fewer technical development artists. In this case, we can become a technical artist or provide technical materials to commissioned artists.
This gives us an advantage because there is less competition and greater demand.
We can also use this perspective to analyze other things, such as customers, competitors, or our production.
This is the perspective of competition. It is the same as the tactics of war. Perhaps that is why business is often described along with strategies of war.
The perspective that reduces the stress of sales
This perspective reduces our stress of sales. We can sell our products relatively easily. We can avoid trying to sell things that don’t sell. The more bias the market has, the more profitable it will be.
Of course, we have to be creative to adapt to the market’s bias. However, it would be far easier and mentally healthier than trying to sell products that don’t sell.
This also tells us why it is often hard to make money by heading toward the popular section. It means we are heading to a biased place instead of using it.
The meaning of strategy is to win or not to lose. It includes finding a place where we can win or not lose. It differs from heading to a place with high profits if we win. We have to distinguish them.
Using each perspective effectively
This tactical thinking is difficult from a dualistic perspective. This is because trilism can show us a minor segment easily. Three elements allow us to divide one thing into one major part and one minor part.
On the other hand, from the dualistic perspective, it is hard to find such a minor segment. It is not impossible, but it is not easy like trilism.
It is the same as the view of chess. Although we can play from the view of the King’s eyes, viewing from above makes it easier to manipulate the pieces.
Tetralism and pentalism are also the same. Tetralism makes it easier to understand the spatial bias or a cycle of time. Pentalism gives us the relationship between each element’s weakness and strength.
There is an effective use for any perspective.
