We Can Be Fulfilled Even if We Are Born in Unfavorable Places

Today, I’ll talk about my thoughts a little. I think that we can be fulfilled even if we are born in unfavorable places.

Envying others’ richness

Sometimes, we envy others’ richness. And we cry about our misfortunes by comparing them. We could be depressed about many things, such as unique characteristics that seem worthless, harsh circumstances, environments where nobody understands our wishes, or painful lives.

But recently, I have come to feel that we can live fulfilling lives in such terrible situations.

Now, we’ll assume one person. He was born in a conflict zone. There are many wars and deaths. He wished for a peaceful country.

So he got out of the country. He doesn’t have many things. He doesn’t have enough money. He cannot speak other languages well. He doesn’t have a common sense of other cultures. But he wanted a peaceful place.

About 20 years later, he finally reached a peaceful country. Of course, there are also many problems in the country. But he felt fulfillment.

Our lives are the same

In this case, we don’t think that his 20 years were in vain. There might have been many failures or wasted times. He might have stagnated and struggled for many years. He might have cried a lot.

However, we believe that such times are not wasted if he challenged something to be a better life.

We can say that our lives are the same. We wished for a better life. So we began to change what we could do.

Now, we might have many problems like his problems. Many people who live in the “conflict zone” might look down on us. Those people might say to us, “If you don’t endure the pains, you are a loser.” In addition, we might not have enough resources, such as money, skill, confidence, or self-approval.

However, we can live for our happiness. From a long-term view, our failures or wasted times are parts of our lives. It’s OK. We will be OK. Even if we only accomplish a portion of our wishes throughout our lives. Even if we have depressive failures or misfortunes. Even if the goal seems too far away. Or even if we don’t have confidence in achieving it now.

We are now challenging something. That is important. Others’ lives are others’. But our lives are ours. We can live for our futures.

Conclusion

So I think that we can be fulfilled even if we are born in unfavorable places. We are the same as the person who was born in a conflict zone.

From a long-term view, our failures or wasted times are parts of our lives. We will be OK.

If we understand this, we might be able to let go of our envy and accept our lives.
