I gradually understand how to enjoy life for people with unique individuality. I am one of those who want to know it, but nobody tells me it. That is why I am trying to find it through my life.
Today, I will talk about how to enjoy our lives for those with individuality.
How to escape from suffering with fun
Sometimes, we want to balance having fun and escaping from suffering. A stressful social life often exhausts us, especially if we have individuality. We cannot live the same way as our surroundings. We have to find our own way to live well.
Just escaping suffering doesn’t always create a good life. We also want to enjoy our lives. Both bring us happiness.

If we have unique individuality, heading toward an independent survival life would fulfill us. Showing our individuality means being outside of the social system and its values.
Survival is the primal goal if we are away from society because we don’t have to compare ourselves with others’ grades. In other words, there is no point in excelling in one area. Trying to find a better balance and fulfilling our contradictory desires helps us to survive while having fun.
Balancing fun with escaping from suffering
For example, we balance future safety with fulfilling current desires. Although they are contradictory, we need both. We don’t have to find the best way because survival is the supreme goal. There is no problem as long as we have a reasonable balance.
In addition, showing our individuality is fun.
These factors tell us that living an independent survival life suits us and is compatible with having fun.

That is why we want to balance having fun and escaping from suffering.
However, we sometimes don’t know how to make it happen. Social values—it can be said common sense—often confuse us.
To solve this problem, I will introduce 5 perspectives on enjoying an independent survival life. This might help you improve your life with more fun and less exhaustion.
5 practical perspectives
Knowing how to balance gives us fun to live an independent survival life.
Let’s look at the 5 practical perspectives below.
1) Get expensive things to use affordable things efficiently.
This is about how to use our resources.
When we live a survival life, we have to use affordable things. This is because they give us abundance. For example, in a place where water is rich, we can use it in many ways, such as as drinking water, as an energy source, as growing food, as keeping temperature, as a weapon, as security, as a means to move, as a comfortable sofa, or even as a lens to make fire. You can find many ways to use it.
However, trying to make everything cheap will lose our balance. There are areas where we need to ask for something expensive.

They are the things to use those affordable things efficiently. We use our money on it. For example, we spend money on hydroelectric equipment.
Imagine this pleasure. Suppose we live in a water-rich place; we bought an expensive hydroelectric generator, started operating it, and the lights came on successfully. We can live with almost free energy. The happiness would be the best. In addition, the benefits are permanent.
This is the happiness when we use our resources efficiently. We pursue both expensive and affordable things. Although it looks contradictory, they both help our independence. This is a fulfilling activity all the time.
2) Do what we like for our environment.
Usually, we think that if we do what we like, we will cause trouble for those around us. However, this is true only in society. When we head toward independence, doing things to our liking will be good for the environment.
This is because we don’t want to create waste.
In society, creating surpluses makes more profit because we can sell them. For example, if we are farmers, we create and sell ‘waste vegetables’ that we never consume for ourselves. All products are basically waste for producers. That is why the food loss has not been reduced easily. People want to create more as long as they can make a profit.

However, when we head toward independence, we don’t need unnecessary surpluses. We need only a moderate amount that we consume.
Pursuing this moderation is fun. This is where our perfectionism comes in with joy. We focus on a perfect balance in life. There is only benefit and no harm, no matter how much we concentrate so much that we forget about other trivial things.
This is an enjoyable activity. We imagine and plan how to create and consume things in perfect balance. This would also be a happy activity throughout our lives.
3) Keep inexpensive things to be rich.
Usually, we think storing expensive things makes us abundant. For example, we think that owning a lot of expensive homes, jewelry, cars, furniture, or paintings makes us rich.
However, we think differently when we go toward independence. Keeping inexpensive things makes us rich.
For example, imagine this situation: we noticed that gold is much cheaper than it was 10 years ago. People were more interested in lumber for building houses than gold. We know there are historical cycles, so we bought and stored it.

5 years later, the circumstances changed, inflation occurred, and the gold price soared. We sold it. That made us rich.
We call this an investment. It will be a good way to be rich for those who like to focus on inexpensive things, such as people heading toward independence.
We can also enjoy this activity. We don’t fear losses because we buy at around the cheapest. It is a pleasure to see the value go up. This would be fun when we live in an independent survival life.
4) Reduce hobbies to enjoy.
When we want to enjoy life, we often try to add hobbies. For example, we might try football as a new hobby. In other words, we add hobbies to make our lives better.
However, reducing hobbies can also be our pleasure. This is because our biggest hobby is improving our lives. Hobby is one means to make our lives better.
In society, it also means distraction from stress. In other words, playing football is not the goal. Improving some areas in our lives by playing football makes us happy.

In an independent life, we don’t need such a complicated way. We can focus on things that directly improve our lives, such as having better water, a better bed, a better energy source, or better foods. That may be why we cannot focus on distracting sports or hobbies when we head toward independence.
We can enjoy improving our basic lives. It is exciting because it has a direct reward. This is also fun for people who want independence.
5) Live consistently with contradiction.
Usually, we think that being enthusiastic about one thing for a long time is amazing. Such people often become professionals. People who are passionate about something are attractive. We might want to be like them.
However, living always contradictorily is also happy for people who try to live their own lives. To do contradictory things means that we are free to experiment. Many trials and errors allow us to improve our lives.
There is no failure. This is because nobody knows the right answer. A setback is usual. A setback or retreat has nothing to do with happiness. As long as survival is the goal, there is no good or bad in the means. The surviving beings are right.

This makes us think of the definition of enjoyment. What is enjoyment? What is happiness?
It may be only one side of the whole pleasure. Challenging hard troubles in a tough situation could be a part of happiness.
If so, there is no difference between difficulty and ease, happiness and unhappiness, fortune and misfortune, or joy and sadness. Although contradictory, both are essences of happiness for people who try to live more independently.
Live one’s own life. This might be the most fun when we live an independent survival life.
