I have thought for a long time about how to use our unique nature. Recently, I have come to understand that the mental strength to wait can give us value. Today, I will talk about it.
How to use the ability to wait
Sometimes, we want to know what talents we have. These talents allow us to create values that others cannot do. They give us fulfillment and wealth.
Each of our unique natures is a gift but also a test. We have to find a way to use it efficiently, or it will suffer us. If we ignore the meaning of the test, we will struggle with why we cannot live like our surroundings. That makes us work harder than others in the same area without knowing the meaning of our individuality and be exhausted.
The ability to wait is one of the unique natures. It is one of the mental strengths many people don’t have. People who tend to be anxious about the future have this talent. Someone who can consider the future can have hope for the future. That hope gives us the ability to wait.
However, we sometimes don’t know how to use it uniquely and efficiently. That makes us compete with others in the same area. In other words, we cannot help but do something. Doing something, such as distracting, would be the only way to calm down in this mental state. It is the mental state when we cannot wait.
Today, I will introduce ideas of how to use the ability to wait. This knowledge might give us new opportunities.

- Empathy gives us the ability to wait. It makes us prefer long-term stable profits to one-time big income.
- Logical sense or sociality provides us with solid ways to create profits. Logical sense gives us a unique perspective that many people overlook. Sociality allows us to be obsessed with one area. If we are creative, using logical sense would work.
- Competitive minds drive us to win socially. That makes us prefer one-time big income to long-term stable profit. However, it also makes us impatient to wait. In social competition, waiting time is a waste.
Assume we are empathic and creative in this article.
The rarer talent: waiting
The relationship between those four senses shows us where we can gain an advantage.
If we are empathic, adding waiting to our activities would be one idea. The more waiting time an activity has, the more we can show our talents because fewer people can do it.
Many people like fast responses and results. Although they are good ways for productivity, productivity is not everything in our lives. In other words, activities that are distanced from competitive production would suit empathic people.
Having someone else or something work for us
One idea is to have someone else or something work for us.
For example, we can let work our money instead of us working. We can create a vending system, such as selling books online, placing vending machines, lending land as parking, renting out a house, or building business systems. Investment is also a way.
In my case, I realized that writing about our lives or investing suited me. I gave up building companies after I began my business independently because I noticed I was not good at socializing and didn’t want to take responsibility for employees’ lives. Writing and investing were activities I could do as an individual.
Logical sense that supports how to use the ability to wait
Making money individually tends to be harder than working as an employee. That often makes us feel achieving independence is always difficult.
However, logical sense can help if we have it. Try forgetting common sense and thinking logically and calmly. Perhaps we can find many strange behaviors in the ordinary behaviors of people.
In my case, I wondered why many people leave a lot of useless old junk in their homes. I like minimalism, but they love cluttered. It means my common sense and theirs are different. That tells us there is room to think logically and calmly.
I also wondered why people have to work patiently. There are many of those teachings. Of course, we need a minimum of food and things to live. However, I felt there was something off about working until we were sick.
I had many doubts about people’s lives. Why do I have to get up early? It would be the person’s preference. Why do I have to follow their values? The results and responsibility for my actions are mine. Why do I have to suffer at the heartless words of irresponsible people?
Although they are common senses, there are many strange behaviors. You might also have wondered such fundamental questions in people’s lives if you have individuality. They are the questions that are not immediately answered. Many people justify and overlook them while saying, “They are common sense.”
The opportunities within doubts
Logical sense turns them from troubles into opportunities. If we realize that one set of values is not everything in our lives, they are all valuable things that many people aren’t aware of.
Values change based on time or situations. We cannot say which is better or worse. Productivity is not everything in our lives. We also want to have a good break.
When the majority believes productivity is the best thing, it would be the best time to break because we can get it affordably. Although they might look down on us as social losers, it would be a wise decision in the long term. All values have cycles.
In the financial investment, perhaps you can soon feel such doubts. One example is why economic growth is the only good and recession is evil. Although periodic recessions are also necessary to improve efficiency and reduce unnecessary efforts, many believe only the positive side is acceptable and the negative one is unforgivable.
Logical sense tells us the cycles of opportunities.
Combining the ability to wait and the logical sense will give us a way to make profits. That would be our unique perspective and talents.
