I used to think a logical way of life eliminates spirituality. However, it allowed me to understand it more deeply. Today, let’s talk about it.

How to recognize physical and mental state

Sometimes, we want to recognize our physical and mental state accurately. That allows us to solve our inner problems.

One example is stress. Being aware of it allows us to treat our bodies and minds efficiently. Physical stress triggers emotions. In other words, that helps solve our emotional problems, such as a mental complex, intense empathy, uncontrollable emotions, and flashbacks.

However, it is sometimes difficult to understand logically because of its abstractness.

Recognizing them intuitively allows us to manage our physical and mental state more efficiently.

Today, I will introduce one of the traditional spiritual concepts: the meaning of internal energy flow. This idea might allow you to perceive your stress more easily.

What is internal energy flow?

The concept of internal energy flow allows us to understand our physical and mental stress.

They are often seen in Eastern religions, such as the chakra in traditional Hinduism and the meridian system in traditional Chinese culture. Both focus on the circulation of internal energy and on balancing the body and the mind.

These concepts allow us to understand intuitively the stress that causes our emotional problems.

To make it easier to understand, let’s look at my feelings of controlling emotions with my consciousness.

To control our emotions, we can use the following three senses:

  • The chest (heart) is the source of stress that causes mental upset. It can trigger emotions.
  • Around the throat is the source of emotions. They are conditioned reflexes based on our memories.
  • Inside the forehead is the feeling of where our consciousness is. Rational decisions calm stress and emotions.

Being aware of these places helps us understand our mental workflow.

How internal energy flows

Let’s look at the flow of handling stress and emotions.

First, stress arises from the chest, around the heart. Stress is elusive and ambiguous. We often express it as something gloomy.

It is difficult to put it into words because it is just a sense before logical processing. We can only perceive stress through our experiences.

That would be why the symbol of the heart (♥) indicates an inner nature that cannot be expressed in words. The heart is something indescribable.

However, becoming aware of the stirrings in our chest, we can recognize the presence of stress. In other words, we have to be sensitive to the ambiguous gloom instead of ignoring it to solve our mental problems.

Processing the internal energy

Next, emotions arise from around the throat. Stress sometimes triggers them if we have experienced similar events in the past.

That would be why we often describe our emotions as suffocating. A typical example is a trembling voice in stories. If a story character is mentally upset, he chokes up or shivers in his voice. That is the symbol that emotions affect our necks.

Finally, we make decisions inside the forehead. It is the place of our consciousness. Rational judgment calms the heart and the suffocation of the throat.

One symbol is the third eye on the forehead. It is often seen in the old gods of India, like Siva in Hinduism. Some Indian people draw a dot on their forehead. It is the symbol of the third eye.

It means that the mind and the body become complete when the third eye is opened.

Understanding how to deal with stress

They are the senses I have.

By perceiving it as a flow of internal energy, we can make it easier to understand emotional handling.

The internal energy moves while changing form. First, the initial energy arises around the heart. It is stress, like a dark fog. Then, it moves to the throat. The energy transforms into emotional energy. Finally, it reaches the forehead and dissipates, like fragments of light.

This flow may make it easier to understand the workflow of dealing with stress and emotions.
