A Life Going Against the Crowd: How I See the World Now

Recently, I have started to feel more often that my perception differs from that of society, especially when I watch the news. That made me realize that I prefer to live in a place away from society.

In my opinion, the majority of people are currently in confusion and are heading toward economic collapse. It is like a herd of bulls that is heading toward a cliff. Let’s talk about it.

How to judge calmly for ourselves

Sometimes, we want to judge for ourselves calmly.

If we are logical, we can trust our rationality rather than the masses. History shows us that the masses often make mistakes, especially when social collaborations break down, like now. Examples are unnecessary economic booms, financial market collapses, economic shutdowns, and wars.

Although those sequences are reasonable from the perspective of long-term human development, we individually don’t have to follow the short-term destruction and conflicts.

In my case, I want to become more abundant, even if the majority of society becomes poorer. I don’t see any point in becoming poor together with them. Since I don’t like crowds, if preparing brings me security or prosperity, I will do it, even if it means defying the norm.

However, we sometimes hesitate to do it due to a lack of confidence. We don’t know when to show our uniqueness.

One typical time to follow our rationality is when we feel that the masses are going wrong. That awareness may enable you to decide for yourself. Today, I will introduce how I see the current world.

The current situation of the world

From my perspective, many people are rushing headlong toward collapse. It is like a herd of bulls that is heading toward a cliff, as I said at the top of this article.

They are in a euphoric state—excitement without reliable facts. They claim, “If we all unite, we can overcome anything!” Then, they always praise their communities or nations.

However, they have no effective, concrete measures. In other words, they are relying on someone else from the very beginning. They are implicitly saying, ‘Someone, help me!’ They are a flock of sheep that are pretending to be bulls.

As long as they pretend to be bulls, we cannot help them. They cannot lower their standard of living. They feel it as a defeat. They take for granted that someone else will satisfy their excessive greed. They are a group trying to use those around them for their benefit. They are the herd of liars.

In other words, they are unreasonable. They complicate simple matters to hide their weaknesses. They don’t acknowledge their mistakes and believe what they want to believe. That is why we cannot rely on the public’s judgments in this period.

Deciding for ourselves

During this period, deciding for ourselves is more efficient for logical people.

Although internet literacy has been essential for decades, we will not be able to rely on information on the internet for a while. In an era of social disconnection, the situation varies depending on the circumstances. It means that there will not be a single right answer.

In my opinion, the information on the internet has already become pointless. Even if we want a method of how to repair a car, owning it itself can be wrong. The internet, including AI, doesn’t teach us the essential mistakes.

In addition, differing opinions are disappearing from the world. That takes away from us the reassurance that we are allowed to be different.

It is the same path that television, radio, and newspapers took. As it becomes more popular, unique ideas and differences disappear, and it becomes filled with the news of scandals, sports, and entertainment.

Although we want to connect with unique people and ideas, our reliance on old methods—like the internet—leaves us without alternatives. It will take some time until we have a common free place where unique people can gather.

We will have to make our own decisions for a while. Despite the possibility of making mistakes ourselves, that brings us prosperity for logical people, even without referring to social norms.

Conclusion

That is how I see the current world.

One typical time to follow our rationality is when we feel that the masses are going wrong.

That awareness may enable you to decide for yourself.
