I moved to my parents’ house yesterday and settled down. Since I plan to stay for a few weeks, I brought only my PC and some clothing.
This place is not bad! Let’s look at the place where I currently live.
About Yanai City
I temporarily moved from Kitsuki City, Oita Prefecture, to Yanai City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. Their locations are shown in the next image:
Here in Yanai City, it is a bit more urban than the previous city I lived in. The population is about the same, and it is rural, but people live concentrated in one area. That makes this city compact and convenient.

The unique problem
This city has one big characteristic: the scarcest water in this region. The river is short, and there are no dams. Although it rains, the rainwater flows to other areas. That causes the water bill to be the highest in this prefecture.
In other words, we have to be more creative to live comfortably.
I like unique places like this. Despite scarce water, there are many strengths. The sea is nearby. There is a resort island close by. In addition, urban functions are concentrated, making it convenient and inexpensive.
It means that if we solve the water problem, it will be a relatively good place to live peacefully and affordably. That would be why many houses in this area have wells.
I currently live between the urban area and the countryside. It is a quiet and convenient place.
My new life
There are still no issues with my interactions with my parents. I have started trying not to think about things I don’t need to consider. Thankfully, I can relax.
By the way, the standard of living has improved significantly. I was trying to live as frugally as possible. On the other hand, my parents have an average life. That made me feel as if I had suddenly become part of the nobility.
Since I discovered various things, I will write about them gradually.

I don’t know much about this city yet. I will learn about it.
