I did a fast two days ago, and I am gradually recovering from the fatigue of fasting. It seems to have eliminated enough of my excess liver fat. Although my physical and mental condition is still unstable, I am getting more energetic.
While recovering, I thought about how to get energy and hope for my life. Let’s talk about it.
How to get energy and hope
Sometimes, we want to get energy and hope in our lives, especially when we are exhausted. Fatigue makes us feel like we will die if we give up hope.
In such a time, what is needed is rest, not energy. However, we can rest more comfortably when there is hope. Something we want to do after recovering makes us relax.

However, we sometimes don’t have such hope. We don’t know how to gain new pleasures.
I found a solution yesterday and have formalized it. I named it the law of pudding. Today, I will introduce it. This logic might give you energy and hope in your life.
The law of pudding
The law of pudding would give you energy and hope in your life.
The teaching is simple: eat the delicious things first.
Let’s look at the explanation.
Suppose we love pudding and bought a great, sweet, famous one at a first-class pastry shop. We have been eagerly awaiting tasting it for a long time. Finally, we purchased it!

The issue here is how to enjoy that pudding.
There are two styles, as follows:
- Empathic way: For maximum enjoyment, wait and raise your expectations as a reward.
- Logical way: Eat it immediately.
Empathic people tend to choose the former—the empathic way. However, if you want additional energy and hope in your life, take the latter—the logical way.
Joy vs. suffering
Rationally speaking, there is no point in leaving delicious things for later.
Let’s think of why it is necessary to make that pudding a reward. The answer is to endure painful things, such as completing disgusting jobs. In other words, we are using our pleasures as a tool for the sake of suffering. We limit fun to increase patience.
Originally, joy has nothing to do with suffering, yet we associate them and prioritize patience over fun.
It is natural that such a style takes the energy and hope away from us.

There is no benefit in leaving the pudding for later in terms of enjoying life. If you live in a large family, one of the members might eat it. The longer you wait, the more the taste will decline and spoil. The joys of life are only decreasing.
On the other hand, if we enjoy it immediately, we can focus on the next fun. There are many joys in the world. We just have not focused on them yet.
In other words, the continued focus on the pudding hides other delicious things. Even though we can enjoy cheesecake and blueberry tarts as much or even more, we remain unaware of them.
That is why we lose hope and enjoyment in our lives. Empathic ways limit our fun and interest.
Living in the world of buffet
That tells us how to get energy and hope in our lives.
Eat the delicious things first! Don’t wait. Don’t hesitate. Choose the best you can reach in your current state and enjoy it immediately.
If you love fatty steak and go to a buffet, go to the meat section at the very beginning and order it. There is no need for appetizers, such as vegetables and soup. You don’t have to raise expectations for fun things.
Then, take a bite out of the fattiest part of the steak on the first bite!

There is no need to amplify the enjoyment many times over. There are many other delicious foods on the buffet.
After being satisfied with the steak, you might be interested in fish dishes and pasta. If you try it, you might be surprised by its deliciousness. It is a discovery. That adds joy to your life.
On the other hand, if you focus solely on the steak, you lose interest in other foods. Nothing other than the steak interests you. Even though you might amplify the experience of the steak several times, your pleasure is only the steak.
If you lose steak in your life, you will be in despair. That fact makes you fear losing it because it is the only pleasure.
We are living in such a buffet. There are many enjoyable things in the world. Multiple enjoyments make us relax.
Conclusion
That is the law of pudding. Rationally speaking, there is no point in leaving delicious things for later.
Eat the delicious things first. Don’t wait. Don’t hesitate. Choose the best you can reach in your current state and enjoy it immediately.
This logic might give you energy and hope in your life.
