Natural Fasting: How I Overcame My Liver Disorder This Early Summer in 2025

Every year, early summer makes me gloomy because my weak liver is not functioning well. Fasting heals my liver, but it has always been tough.

However, this year, I might have been able to cope better than expected. Let’s talk about it.

How to fast without pain

I had a problem. It was my weak liver. I was born with a weak liver. That often troubled me.

Early summer is a difficult time for me every year because my liver doesn’t work well during this period, as I said above.

I call this disorder the physical upset in May. It usually begins around early May and ends around the end of July. I have to spend about three months in a state of mild illness. It requires strict health and meal management, or I will be bedridden for weeks or months.

Fasting heals my liver well. It eliminates the excess liver fat accumulated during winter and cleanses the liver. It is the currently optimal solution for my health after continuous trial and error.

However, it was always painful. After a long period of dietary restrictions, I have to fast for a day. Although it was once a year, it always exhausted me.

That was my problem.

Surprisingly and unexpectedly, I finished the fasting naturally this year. It was not painful at all. Today, I will explain my guess about the cause. Although this is not for many people, this experience might help you be healthier this season.

Two keys to successful fasting

If you feel fatigued easily in early summer, fasting can help you. It eases the burden on your liver and makes you feel good. Even without fasting, reducing the amount of food you eat might be effective.

The two key points I found this year are the following:

  • Increase the amount of vegetables you eat from January or February. Eat seasonal vegetables, especially in spring. Spring vegetables promote the elimination of liver fat.
  • Identify the time to start fasting. On a warm day in early summer, there may be a time when you suddenly get sick, even if you live as usual. You feel that you can eat but are not so hungry. That is the time to fast. The time to end the fast is when you are hungry.

The time to end the fast is when you are hungry. It could be 1 hour or 24 hours.

In my case, I was living my usual life until yesterday. Up until that time, my condition was good. However, my liver suddenly became bad. I felt dizzy and tired and could not stop my negative emotions.

In this situation, we have to prioritize avoiding eating rather than continuing our daily routine. Although we can eat, we are not so hungry. In my case, I was not sure if I was hungry or not.

That was the time to start fasting. I had not eaten for an hour since my usual dinnertime and was not so hungry. Then, I eat nothing for another hour. My condition was the same. By repeating that, I ended fasting for one day naturally.

This year, I didn’t drink any water, and that reduced my pain unexpectedly. Last year, I consciously drank a lot of water, but it stressed my body. Perhaps it is enough to drink only when we are thirsty.

Preparing from the previous winter

Having more vegetables from winter or spring would be effective. That makes it easier to reduce the amount of food.

I started eating more vegetables around April, but it was a little too late this year. I will try to start earlier next year.

This year, as I went without food, I realized I was feeling better without suffering. Even though I had not eaten in about 24 hours, I had become energetic and confident. I avoided exercising and spent my time relaxing.

Fortunately, it seems that I will be able to get through this year’s physical upset well. I am gradually resolving my liver problems.

Conclusion

That was how I overcame the liver disorder of early summer this year.

It was not painful at all.

Although this is not for many people, this experience might help you be healthier this season.

Let’s begin the summer!
