Rationality gave me a sudden improvement in my life. One of my changes is that I became lazier rationally, and that relaxed me. Let’s talk about it.
How to have a more peaceful life
Sometimes, we want to have a more peaceful life. Busyness and stress exhaust us.
Although hope excites us, the ultimate goal can be the balance of peace and excitement. In other words, pursuing hope and our goal could be different.
In my case, the reason I wanted to have hope was always the same: I wanted to live a more peaceful life. What I truly wanted was not an energetic life; it was relaxation. I recently realized that.

However, we sometimes don’t know how to make it happen. The only way we know is to be socially successful and buy it with money. That makes us take a complex way, such as pursuing success for relaxation, trying to be active for rest, and wishing for excitement for calm.
I recently found that rationality solves it easily. I became more lazy, and that satisfied my life. In other words, slack off rationally if you want a more peaceful life. Today, I will explain why.
Slacking off rationally
Rationality gives us a direct way to relaxation. We can slack off rationally. Although laziness harms irrational people, it benefits those with logical sense.
Imagine we create something. In my case, I write an article in this blog every day.
Suppose I write one article in two hours. If I can achieve that with the same quality in one hour, it is amazing.

It is not due to spending more time and effort on every article. It is because I have started to be rationally lazy. Efficiency allowed me to realize the same quality in half the time.
In other words, rationality is meant for being lazy, which creates efficiency.
Our lives are the same. We slack off rationally. That reduces unnecessary struggle, makes us focus on the essence, and improves our lives directly. We should know that there is such a way.
My realization
Come to think of it, we often do unreasonable things.
In my case, I used to try to write perfect articles for this blog. I tried to eliminate as many mistakes as possible and finish with the highest quality. Perhaps it is due to my desire for success. I wanted to achieve results, such as followers and praise from others, as fast as possible.

However, I realized these efforts are unreasonable. I didn’t need to hurry. This blog is for my life, including my peace. Rushing uncomfortably to comfort is pointless. Similarly, pursuing perfection is meaningless. This is because I want a comfortable life in which I don’t have to be perfect.
Judging based on moderation
These realizations allowed me to seek a reasonable degree.
There are two criteria for our lives, as follows:
- Judging based on good or bad is an empathic way. We emphasize only one aspect of values.
- Judging based on the range of moderate amounts is a rational way. We accept all values and consider moderation.

In my case, I realized that a score of around 80 out of 100 for each article is sufficient. That made me feel at ease and allowed me to learn more efficiently. I will not grow even if I do something too difficult. That told me I can ignore things that don’t match my level.
We are doing things for a certain purpose. Our judgment of what is good and bad can often make us forget the appropriate level to develop.
Rationality gives us the criteria of moderation. It provides a comfortable growth. Although it looks lazy from the perspective of empathy, it realizes our happiness more efficiently than perfection.
Conclusion
That is why slacking off rationally gives us a more peaceful life.
Rationality gives us a direct way to relaxation. We can avoid unreasonable efforts, such as pursuing perfection and seeking what is good and bad.
This realization might give you more efficiency in your life.
Thank you for reading this article. I hope to see you in the next one.
