Quick Learning: A Unique Talent for Logical People and How to Use It

I introduced the whole motivational process for logical people in the previous article (this article). It also tells us about how our minds work. Today, I will talk about one of them: quick learning.

How to acquire skills quickly

Sometimes, we want to acquire skills quickly. To solve our problems in life, we need more skills. Skills give us more opportunities. In addition, they make our lives easier because we can do many things ourselves.

There are people with a unique skill called a fast learner. They can learn new skills in a short time. That talent allows them to live easier.

In my opinion, logical people have such a talent because it is based on purely logical sense.

Logic is a suitable way to find a reasonable answer to matters with no answer or problems that have not been solved yet. In other words, it is a power to deal with the unfamiliar. Acquiring new skills means understanding quickly unfamiliar things.

That is why logical people have a talent for being quick learners.

Showing our logical sense

Perhaps this blog’s readers tend to have a logical sense. This blog mainly explains logic. Only people who like logic come to this minor blog.

If we can use fast learning skills, our lives should be easier.

However, we sometimes don’t know how to demonstrate it.

Today, I will explain how to master it quickly with a simple principle. This might give you the confidence to live even in a confused environment.

The principle of quick learning

We can achieve quick learning with a single principle: narrow down the essentials to do it.

In other words, simplify the elements. There is no problem if it is a little rough.

For example, if you want to master cooking, try thinking of what elements are necessary for cooking and narrow them down.

I like this answer: “Cooking is easy. Chop them, heat them enough, and salt and pepper them!”

“Buy a pot. Throw what you want to eat into it. Add broth. Then boil. That is all you have to do!” I also like this style.

Although they don’t look smart and beautiful, they are not so much out of the essence of cooking. They allow us to cook simple and easy meals.

Repeating this and expanding the area gradually will improve skills in a short period.

Examples of wrong elements

To narrow down essentials, we have to spot the essence well. To make it easier to understand, first, let’s show examples that miss the mark.

For example, suppose we want to master sports or something. In this case, the following simplification would not work.

“Soccer is easy. All you have to do is kick the ball.”

“Baseball is easy. The pitcher throws the ball. You hit it and make it a home run.”

“Chess is easy. All we have to do is move the pieces.”

They are not the essence of the skills. They are the rules.

Other unusable examples

The following are similar examples:

“Business is easy because all you have to do is sell well!”

“Realizing independence is easy. Earn enough money. You can do it easily.”

They are means, not the essence.

“Mastering a skill is easy. Don’t give up until you master it.”

“Do your best as if your life depends on it.”

We eliminate these emotional arguments. Skill has nothing to do with emotions.

A principle that ensures a certain result

Essence is a simple principle that ensures a certain result. It is like the laws of physics. We don’t include emotions, rules, or conditions.

For example, the following ideas would be more appropriate:

“Ball control in soccer is easy. Buy shoes with hard toes and kick only the center of the ball with your toes. You can control the ball easily.”

“Ball control in soccer is easy. Know where to touch the ball, where to hit your foot on it, and how it affects the ball movement. That will help you control the ball well.”

“Growing vegetables is easy. Make the soil, plant the seeds, give water, and wait.”

“Repairing a bicycle is easy. First, buy a simple sports bike. It is easy to replace parts. Then, buy parts and replace them.”

“Finding a business idea is easy. People buy from what they lack in their circumstances. You think of it.”

Although they are rough, it would work. They are the essence.

The first successful experience

They give us our first successful experience in that area. Even though it is limited, we can develop our skills reasonably. That accelerates the next learning. At some point, there will be a leap forward.

By the way, we often cannot find any principles for some skills. Typical examples are competition and business.

They are things we deal with in our philosophy, not in skills. Don’t stick to skills. They are superficial treatments. Skills follow philosophy, and philosophy follows universal logic. We have to distinguish them.

Eliminating emotional imagination

One easy way to find better elements is to limit your emotional imaginations. We have to think of it purely based on logical sense.

If we are empathic and logical, they often conflict. Empathy, which includes emotional reaction, makes us prepare for future problems. Its purpose is maintaining the current lifestyle. On the other hand, logical sense makes us focus on current, physical issues. Its purpose is changing our lifestyle and adapting to a new situation.

Quick learning belongs to logical sense. It allows us to adapt to new situations, even in a chaotic or turbulent era.

In other words, continuous acquisition of skills makes us unpredictable about how our future unfolds. Even a single skill can change our futures dramatically. We often experience unexpected future development. We need to be prepared for that.

To be precise, it is unnecessary to predict rather than being unpredictable. It is a skill to adapt to reality while eliminating our misunderstanding toward reality. Our imagination often contains misconceptions, biases, and unrealistic desires.

That is why limiting our emotions will work for quick learning. It shows the correct reality.

A life relying on our logical sense

Of course, we don’t have to suppress our emotions. We limit only emotional imagination, like feeling happy or expecting excitement.

We concentrate on logic, which belongs to a non-emotional world, like playing chess or programming.

It brings us enjoyment. It is a bright path, not a dark world. It is a feeling that skills have naturally developed while having fun without realizing it.

Logical sense allows us to proceed toward an unknown future with enjoyment.

Entering a chaotic future

Imagine we are in a chaotic, turbulent era. Everything changes moment by moment. If we keep changing, we cannot predict what we and our environments will be like even in 10 years.

Learning skills continuously means changing our situations constantly. It is the same as living in a confused period.

Although preparing for the future is important, it is not enough. We have to adapt to the following new situations. Perhaps there is no need to imagine our great success 10 years from now. Our circumstances will change dramatically and be better as long as we proceed based on our direction in life. Our philosophy provides the direction.

Quick learning changes our future. We can use it based on our logical sense. It will give you confidence to survive in any chaotic situation.

Conclusion

That is how we show quick learning with our unique talent of logical sense.

We can achieve it with a single principle: narrow down the essentials to do it.

This might give you the confidence to live even in a confused environment.
