I created another thinking tool to make our dreams come true that have not come true for a long time. Today, I will introduce it.
How to realize our dreams
Sometimes, we are depressed if we face a dream that has not come true for a long time. The more years we wish for it, the more it tends to be our honest dream. We often feel, “I want to do it someday, but I cannot start it now because I am not like this yet. I don’t have this yet.” That makes us continue to put it off for years and years.
However, after we get a good idea, we sometimes understand that it is easy to realize that dream. There are such ideas to accelerate the realization of our dreams. If we notice that, we will stop postponing and start that dream with joy, even if little by little.
One of the methods is changing the cause and effect in our minds. We often have the wrong beliefs about cause and effect when we have a dream that has not come true for a long time.
For example, assume we have a dream to travel by bicycle. Although we already have a bicycle, we think, “I am not a millionaire, so I cannot realize my dream.” That is a symbolic misunderstanding of the cause and the effect in our minds. We can understand that whether we are millionaires does not matter. We can start the travel from a nearby location. Then, we can accelerate the dream little by little.
We often have such a wrong cause and effect.
Today, I will introduce a thinking tool to help us find the wrong cause and effect in our minds. I name it “Modification of Cause and Effect in Our Minds.” This tool might help us start our dreams from now on.
The thinking tool to modify the cause and the effects in our minds
I will show you the thinking tool below. This is a single sheet of paper. You can download it and print it in A4.
How to use
1. You pick out a dream that has not come true for a long time.
2. You think about what factor prevents that. It is the cause. You write it down in the field (1). For example, in the case of “I am not a millionaire, so I cannot realize my dream of traveling by bicycle,” you write down “I am not a millionaire” in (1).
3. You write your dream in negative form on the field (2). This is the effect. For example, write, “I cannot realize my dream of traveling by bicycle” in (2). Write it so that it becomes a sentence of cause and effect with (1) and (2).
4. Let’s doubt the relationship between the cause and the effect. Does it seem to be true? If there are other causes, what are they?
5. If you find other causes, write them in the field (3).
There could be other mental causes or material causes. When it is material, avoid exchangeable things, such as money, status, honors, skill, followers, human networks, or freedom. Unexchangeable and specific materials are better.
For example, write “Not having an all-day vacation” instead of “freedom.” Write “No preparation for food, drinks, and a backpack on the travel” instead of “Not having a lot of money.”
6. If the cause seems too hard to solve, you repeat the process from the beginning with a new sheet for that cause. For example, prepare a new sheet and write, “I don’t have an all-day vacation, so I cannot travel by bicycle.” Then doubt it again.
7. If you find true causes, you will understand that these causes are resolvable, even if little by little.
Doubting our belief
If we write it down and see it objectively, we can find our belief that we have never doubted. We often have such beliefs and put them off by giving the same reasoning every time.
One of the reasons we often see is “because I don’t have enough money.” or “I shouldn’t waste my money.” In this case, why do we feel so? Try doubting it.
Sometimes, there is a fear, such as “because I don’t know what troubles will happen in the future.” Then, we might find that that is not a problem of money. Our fears created the problem. That allows us to face the fear and try to make our dreams come true from a different perspective. Perhaps asking ourselves, “Is that a thing I want to try in my life at least once?” provides a solution.
In other words, we succeeded in modifying the cause and the effect. That gives us a new possibility.
Conclusion
That is the thinking tool to find the wrong cause and effect in our minds.
If we write it down and see it objectively, we can find our beliefs that we have never doubted.
This tool might help us start our dreams from now on.
