I realized that my beliefs about work have changed drastically over the past year. Many readers of this blog may not understand my change.
My work style now contrasts with my previous beliefs. In the past, I had always lived based on my inner passion and disregarded social trends. Now, I am suggesting adapting to the environment and the long-term trend.
Developing rationality may have changed my working style. Let’s talk about it.
Our long-term career path
Sometimes, we want to change our lifestyles and mindsets. Due to our contradictory desires, change means becoming inconsistent.
Although we want changes, others’ changes often confuse us. When we cannot understand the reason logically, it makes us uneasy and unable to believe in their changes.
One example is my changes over the past year. Since last year, I have started living rationally, and it has dramatically improved my life in the short term. Examples are resolving spiritual problems, increasing my financial assets multiple times, reconciling with my parents, and decreasing my life stress. There were almost no negative side effects.

One new lifestyle I have adopted recently is letting the environment determine my work. It was the opposite of my past style, as mentioned at the top of this article.
That is why I am focusing on rationality now. Although many issues remain, it has significantly increased my life satisfaction.
I realized it may mean selflessness. Today, I will introduce the overall picture of how logical people naturally become selfless and abundant. This perspective may show you a long-term career path.
Becoming contradictory intentionally
In my current opinion, becoming contradictory improves our lives both in the short term and in the long run. In other words, be as inconsistent based on rationality as possible. That might be the meaning of selflessness, which maximizes your potential.

There are many opposite styles, as follows:
- Being expressive vs. being adaptive
- Driven by inner passion vs. letting the environment determine
- Being active vs. being passive
- Prioritizing active work vs. prioritizing passive income
- Management vs. Investment
- Doing it yourself vs. leaving it to others
- Pursuing a profession vs. managing every specialty
- Following social trends vs. following your interests
- Choosing efficiency vs. pursuing something other than efficiency
- Perceiving work as play vs. perceiving work as a life mission
Always try to change reasonably rather than pursuing a single side. That brings you to the next stage in life. In other words, being flexible is being rational, even in long-term activities.
The meaning of selflessness
That told me the meaning of selflessness.
In my case, I recently changed my way of working, as follows:
- My first stage of work: expressing my inner self and being driven by inner passion
- My second stage (now): following the environment and trends with rationality and being driven by others’ desires
We sometimes let go of a belief we have long held. That is when we graduate from one activity and move on to the next life stage. That will bring us a new leap forward as long as those options are reasonable.

From this perspective, it is pointless to seek the rules of success. For logical and creative people, becoming free and flexible is more efficient than seeking a specific form and answer.
It is more precise to describe ’embracing chaos’ than ‘being free and flexible.’ The ‘freedom’ I mentioned above also includes a single style, which is its opposite. The more chaotic we become, the more comfort we can create. That is rationality.
That means losing oneself. We become more universal and harmonize with nature.
Conclusion
That is the overall picture of how logical people naturally become selfless and abundant.
Being flexible is being rational.
It means that becoming contradictory improves our lives both in the short term and in the long run.
This perspective may show you a long-term career path.
Thank you for reading this article. I hope to see you in the next one.
