I had an extraction surgery of my wisdom tooth two days ago and have finally recovered enough to be able to write a blog, although I still need rest.
Let’s talk about the lesson from that experience.
The experience of removing my wisdom tooth
Take at least 3 days after a wisdom tooth removal. The fatigue was heavier than my expectations.
Wisdom teeth are located at the backmost part of the mouth, often embedded in the gums. As we age, they sometimes cause problems.

In my case, a dentist pointed out to me that one of them could cause trouble in the future when I was young. At that time, it was unclear whether it would really be a problem, so I decided not to remove it.
However, when I went to the dentist last month, that problem had become apparent. The wisdom tooth pressed against the adjacent one, and there was a cavity in that gap. Since brushing and dental floss could not reach it, the only option was to extract the wisdom tooth and treat it.
My expectations and a lesson
I thought that removing one unused tooth would not be a big burden, but it was different from other teeth. It exceeded my expectations. As the term ‘surgery’ says, I stayed in bed for two days afterward. I will return to bed after finishing this blog today as well.
In my case, the pain was not severe, but I felt tired, as if I had a cold.

One fortunate thing was that I was able to use my parents’ car. It was difficult to go home by bicycle or on foot after the surgery. Since it is a once-in-a-lifetime problem, you should take a taxi to the hospital even if it costs money if you live in the countryside and don’t have a car or motorcycle.
Having wisdom teeth removed early could be an option if they seem to cause trouble in the future.
Conclusion
Anyway, I recommend taking at least 3 days off after a wisdom tooth removal. That was the lesson of my experience.
Fortunately, I have gradually recovered without any major problems.
I will rest today, too.
Thank you for reading this article. I hope to see you in the next one.
