I had surgery to remove my wisdom tooth several days ago and require additional rest, so let’s talk about something light today.
How to deal with AI?
Recently, I found a topic for an article that described how to use AI efficiently. It explained that AI tells us ‘how’ but not ‘why.’
It was an accurate description, and I was convinced. Now is the time when we need to focus on ‘why.’
A claim like that is common when an informational innovation becomes a large social boom. Examples are when web searches appeared, magazines became popular in bookstores, television became widespread, and everyone started to listen to the radio.
Whenever such a large social trend occurred, people said, ‘Although such a new technology teaches you the latest know-how or news, it doesn’t teach you how to live, so you should think for yourself.’

Sometimes, old people who hate new fundamental changes criticize, ‘If people rely on that kind of technology, they will not think for themselves at all!’
Despite those criticisms, people gradually improved their lives. Nowadays, almost no one criticizes the radio or television in that way. They have already become the social infrastructure, and those who think for themselves take responsibility for the risks. In other words, their criticism was off the mark.
We know those new technologies didn’t limit our creativity. Rather, we used them as a foundation to create something more progressive. Radio added images and became television; television evolved into computers; computers made the Internet connection possible; the Internet gave rise to AI.
We have made progress through such a history. From a future perspective, AI would be just one milestone along the way.
Considering it as a process of the times
From an investor’s perspective, that shows us the opportunity: asking ‘why?’ is more efficient than chasing the trend of ‘how.’
Many people now believe that the more they apply the latest technology, the richer they will be. Although AI will be a social foundation in the following midterm period, just as internet searches, television, and radio once were, it alone doesn’t improve a person’s life.
For example, those who learned web searches in the early stages of the internet didn’t necessarily become rich. Many people chose to be employees, avoided taking risks, and remained unsatisfied with their lives.
In other words, many people confuse the means with the end. Although AI will be the social foundation for a while, we don’t need to master every aspect of it.

It is the same as a web search. All we have to do is open the AI app and put our questions in the textbox. The only change is that the web search result screen has been replaced with the AI response screen. It just became possible to get the digital results we want in a shorter time.
Trying to master AI is the same behavior as trying to master web search technology 10 or 20 years ago, like what Yahoo and Google were doing. Since there are also various other business opportunities, we don’t have to cling to AI development or even the digital creation industries. AI only streamlines the practical steps of our businesses. Starting a business or managing assets is a different matter.
If you want to build a big company of the next generation, like Google and Apple, try to stay in the AI development industry. However, if you want to follow your inner passion, use AI as a means. Many people just want to make a fuss over a common topic. AI will not improve your life as much as people insist.
Conclusion
That is why asking ‘why’ creates efficiency now.
Now, many people confuse the means with the end.
If you want to follow your inner passion, use AI as a means.
That would improve your life more efficiently, in my opinion.
Thank you for reading this article. I hope to see you in the next one.
