How to prepare at the End of the Period When Information Loses Its Value

I prefer a long-term perspective and want to live a stable life with mild change. It is exhausting for me to follow short-term social trends. This may be because I want to satisfy my curiosity rather than adapt to society. Finding the logic behind things takes time. That is why I want to live slowly.

In my opinion, we are currently at the end of the period when information loses its value. Although I mentioned this topic several times, let’s talk about it again.

How to prepare for the future

Sometimes, we want to understand essentials rather than superficial events, especially if we are exhausted.

Understanding the essence and addressing the fundamental issues allows us to improve our lives more easily and steadily. On the other hand, although superficial measures stabilize the situation instantly, they cause the same problem to recur repeatedly.

That is why we want to know the fundamentals of matters.

One of the things I want to know is the future of society. Predicting it and preparing allows us to be richer in the long term. It also prevents our unnecessary efforts, worries, and exhaustion.

In my opinion, we are currently at the end of the period when information loses its value. To live peacefully, I recommend deleting unnecessary online accounts and data and storing your individual data locally. Today, I will explain why.

Reducing unnecessary online data

I recommend the following preparations:

  • Delete unnecessary online accounts and online data.
  • Store your necessary data as locally as possible.

I already addressed them several years ago.

This is because unnecessary information is likely to cause trouble in the future. Until now, unnecessary online information was just trash. It didn’t matter if we left them. Nobody cared.

However, in a period where information loses its value, some people root through that garbage and sell it. That often causes trouble, such as scams and theft.

Over the past 20 years, the internet industry has grown rapidly, and many people have entered this field. Thanks to social media and AI, ordinary people have become able to create and share information. We can create images and videos far more easily than 10 years ago.

It is like a gold rush. People have dreamed of becoming famous and wealthy on the internet. Examples are becoming a YouTuber and an influencer.

However, as anyone could create information more easily, the value of information began to decline. In other words, it is no longer profitable for many digital information creators due to severe competition.

Behaviors of people during a recession

However, even if the industry begins to decline, many people try to remain. This is because they believe it is profitable. They cannot understand the concept of a cycle. They want to feel that their decision is correct.

When uncreative people can no longer earn, they start collecting garbage and selling it.

This is common in any era. Suppose a city has grown rapidly, and many people have moved in. After the growth reaches its limit, jobs disappear, and a poverty class emerges. Since they cannot decide on their own, they don’t migrate to another city until many people do so.

That makes them rely on more underground ways. Examples are scams and garbage rooting. They sell the collected trash as if it were a good product.

Look at news topics published by second-rate media. They intentionally use extreme expressions to attract attention with trash information. It can be said that they are almost scams.

The trash includes our personal data. For example, if we analyze daily garbage, we can estimate the person’s address, activity hours, and times of going out. That gives the thief a safe time to break into our houses.

The same goes for the online data we stored. Since information on the internet has become easy to collect and analyze, we have to be careful about the online garbage we leave.

Conclusion

That is why I recommend deleting unnecessary online accounts and data and storing your individual data locally.

Until now, unnecessary online information was just trash.

However, in a period where information loses its value, leaving unnecessary information could cause trouble.

This might help you prepare for the future appropriately.
