Introducing My New Hobbies for Relaxation

I am now creating a new life centered on relaxation, so I decided to write this blog more casually. It is contradictory to discuss calmness while bearing stress.

Today, let’s introduce my new hobbies for relaxation.

Three new hobbies

I like walking and cycling. They were my main hobbies. However, currently I cannot bike. I left many of my belongings, including my bicycle, at the previous apartment. Until I move them to my current house next month, I have to enjoy life without my bicycle.

Unexpectedly, I have found many enjoyable things these days. Let’s look at the three new hobbies of mine.

Cleaning the house

The first hobby is cleaning the house.

I love to find laws in chaos. Simplifying things pleases me.

Cleaning up messy things and organizing is one typical example of simplifying. The more chaotic the environment is, the more it entertains me. In addition, it is rewarding.

In that sense, my parents’ house I live in is ideal. The inside of the house is so messy and dusty!

When I wiped the floor with a rag, the rag quickly turned black and dirty. What a fantastic environment!

To be precise, it may be just a bit dirtier than other houses. However, it was enough to motivate me.

I enjoy cleaning when my parents are away.

Weeding the garden

The second hobby is pulling weeds in the garden. I also enjoy it.

I like to work with my fingers. In that regard, weeding is enjoyable. It allows me to empty my mind.

Although it doesn’t create value, I don’t mind. It is for relaxation. All relaxation activities are unproductive.

Strangely, when we are allowed to be unproductive, we naturally think of efficiency and enjoyment. We try to enjoy it like a game.

Perhaps this is because creativity requires extra energy. That would be why stress takes our creativity away, and relaxation gives us new ideas for breakthroughs.

Seeking meaningless tasks

The third hobby is discovering meaningless tasks. Although this is abstract, it stimulates my curiosity.

There is always a hidden meaning. In other words, there is nothing in this world that is entirely worthless. Even if something doesn’t have value now, it was beneficial for someone or something in the past.

It tells us that it could be valuable again when the phase of the cycle changes. Everything has a cycle. The essence is similar across all genres.

In other words, things without meaning may have the potential to be useful in the future.

That perspective shows us not only the value but also the unnoticed cycle.

That would be one of the creative activities.

Conclusion

They are my new hobbies for relaxation.

They are unproductive and worthless. That is why I like them and value them.

Enjoying useless things also fulfills another aspect of our values.

This perspective might help you enjoy your life.
