Since I have to go to the hospital today, I will write this article briefly.
How to be freed from impatience
Sometimes, we want to be freed from anxiety and impatience. We want to decide calmly.
However, we sometimes forget it, especially when we are exhausted.

One solution is paying attention to our state. That allows us to judge rationally.
Today, I will explain it with my experience. This story may help you let go of your impatience.
My case
I got injured yesterday. It will take about a week to heal.
The day before yesterday, my parents received a large quantity of chestnuts, about two buckets, from their friends. I have been peeling them with knives since then.

Chestnuts and knives—you may know that they are one of the most dangerous combinations. I knew that several of my creative companions had accidentally injured themselves with their knives while peeling chestnuts. One of them was transported by ambulance due to cutting her hand deeply.
That made me careful and allowed me to prepare a nut peeler, which made it safer. Thanks to the special peeler, I was able to peel the chestnuts without injury.
Failing to notice my states
However, the cause of my injury was not the tools but rather failing to notice the transition of my states.
It was already late at night. I had been peeling since the evening. My concentration was already exhausted. However, many chestnuts were still unpeeled. I was peeling alone, wondering when it would end. Since I wanted to return to my sewing activity, I tried to finish peeling as soon as possible. That made me start using both the peeler and a sharp knife to be more efficient.

I judged with my exhausted head that continuing to peel would be the best solution, while the muscles in my hands were already tired and not moving well. In other words, I failed to notice the condition of my body and mind.
At the end, I accidentally cut the base of my left thumb. It was a bit deep.
Although sewing is one of my hobbies, I don’t like being stitched by doctors. It’s black humor.
Rationality that solves impatience
Overlooking one’s state would lead to some form of collapse sooner or later. Impatience is a signal that we need to switch to the opposite aspect of our wants. In other words, it is a state dominated by fear.

Accomplishing doesn’t solve fear; rationality does. It means we can resolve impatience without achieving.
That may free you from anxiety and fear.
Conclusion
Anyway, I will take a day off today.
Oh, I just remembered that the hospital is closed today due to the holiday. It was discouraging.
It seems I need a break, so I am resting today.
Thank you for reading this article. I hope to see you in the next one.
