Now I am trying to make a more complex bag with a pair of jeans. Challenging higher levels is enjoyable. Let’s talk about it.
My sewing progress
Although I have spent over 10 days on this bag, I am still working on it. It is about 80% complete.
To be honest, I made this bag too complicated! I had too many new challenges, such as adding zippers, a different type of pocket, and decorations.
One of the difficult parts was a side-insert pocket utilizing the existing zipper. It made this bag have multiple dimensions inside the bag. That made me use a new area of my brain, especially the 3D-spatial imagination. It was like 3D modeling on the computer. It took time to get used to it.

Remodeling clothes requires using the original parts efficiently. It means I have to understand the structure of jeans as well as bags. I didn’t know the structure of jeans well, so I struggled with how to use these parts.
However, struggling with new things is enjoyable. I learned more about bags and jeans. It seems I can create something more efficient next time. That made me hopeful.
How to enjoy creation and learning
By the way, we sometimes want to enjoy creative activities with others. Good creative companions and fans amplify the enjoyment of creation and learning.
However, we sometimes cannot due to our inferiority complex.
It would depend on whether we can accept being a beginner at the first stage.

We can choose the initial attitudes from the following two options:
- An inferiority complex made us think, ‘Let’s become a bit more skilled and release my better product.’ That continuously causes us to postpone announcing our new activities to others.
- A natural attitude is that we start something as a beginner. We can announce our new activities openly and enjoy fresh experiences, even the typical mistakes of beginners. That allows us to relax, enjoy the activity with friends, and grow steadily.
Sharing discoveries is fun. It can be enjoyable even in an ignorant state. It is one of the strongest motivations for logical people.
Rational ignorance that drives out a mental complex
In other words, when we are trying to share discoveries and realizations, we are freed from an inferiority complex. Discovery requires ignorance. We are allowed to be ignorant. That enables us to enjoy learning from the first step.
Perhaps we decide lightly which to choose based on mood. We may feel both embarrassment for our outcome and excitement about the discovery. That first choice creates a significant difference later.

To enjoy learning, it would be helpful to discover unexpectedly better points in the numerous imperfections of the outcome. When we try new things, there are always unexpected results, better or worse. The unexpected better areas are a hope for the future.
They show us the possibility of an unexpected future. We might say later, “At that time, no one, including me, thought it would develop like this.” Many successful people look back at the past and say so.
That calms our inferiority complex. In addition, that also keeps people with complexes away. Rational ignorance drives out a mental complex and stimulates our curiosity.
Conclusion
Anyway, I am still struggling with my next product.
Although it is troublesome, it is fun.
Let’s enjoy new things and discover an unexpected future.
