Creating something real and tangible is enjoyable. Although digital creation is also pleasant and rewarding, combining multiple senses provides us with a fresh experience. It reminded me of the fun of developing new senses.
I have sewn my third bag these days and finished it yesterday. Let’s introduce it today.
Introducing the tote bag
This time, it is a tote bag. Its width is around 45 cm.

A tote bag is a large, open bag with long handles. Since we can carry it on our shoulders and put many items in it, we often use it for everyday bulky carry, such as grocery shopping. Perhaps you know it.
A tote bag may be the bag we replace most often. Despite its frequent and tough use, it tends to be light and thin. This is because we don’t want a heavy, thick leather bag to carry weighty groceries. That is why it tends to be lightweight, and we often have to replace it.
For some people, it becomes a place to showcase their fashion sense. Since a tote is large, it is noticeable. Many use a worn one. In such a situation, imagine someone shops with a beautiful and stylish tote bag with her friends. It is eye-catching.

Bags, not just tote bags, can become a symbol of abundance. That is why people who often socialize emphasize their bags.
By the way, in my case, I prefer functionality to appearances. I created this bag to organize my closet items. Since I currently have a severely limited storage area and can use only a part of a closet in my room, I have to hang my belongings there. That is why I need many bags.
New features I added
This time, I tried new things: adding a lining and pockets.
I added a lining, which is an inner layer of fabric that covers the inside of the bag. The white fabric on the inside, which is shown in the following picture, is the lining.

It protects the inner fabric and enhances its appearance. I used fabric with floral embroidery. It made this bag a bit more luxurious than a regular one.
I also added pockets on the outside and inside of the bag. The following picture shows the inside pockets on the lining.

In terms of functionality, pockets play an important role. Those who can manage things well use pockets efficiently. It is an organizing tool. Although too many pockets confuse us, several reasonable ones often help us.
Although I don’t know if I will use these pockets, I added them because I just wanted to make them.
Comparison with my old bags
Let’s compare it with the old bags I sewed.

You can see that this bag is much larger than the old ones.
I am also satisfied with this bag. It appears good and is made of a fabric with a nice texture. This bag makes me want to touch it. It might be wasteful to use it only in my closet.
Conclusion
Anyway, I finished my third bag.
I enjoyed creating it and am already using it as storage in the closet.
I am thinking of what to create next.
Thank you for reading this article. I hope to see you in the next one.
